It has now become a routine affair for senior actor and would-be-political leader Nandamuri Balakrishna to twirl his moustache and thump his thighs wherever he is addressing the public gatherings.
As he starts speaking in an emotional tone, there are whistles and loud cheers from the people around him, who are requesting him to thump his thighs. May be they remember the dialogue of Balakrishna in his blockbuster film Samara Simha Reddy that the villain would die of heart failure just by listening to the sound of his thigh-thumping.
Curious journalists made enquiries why there was so much demand for Balaiah’s thigh-thumping from the people. It turned out to be Balaiah’s fans and Telugu Desam Party workers, who are asking him to thump the thighs, whenever he fumbles in his speech out of emotion. Everybody knows Balakrishna loses track in his speech when he gets emotional and starts fumbling for words. In order to bring back to normal mood, his fans and TDP workers divert his attention by requesting him to thump his thighs.
And Balaiah plays to the gallery and does the act to please the gathering. In the process, he becomes cool and delivers normal speech. What an idea, sirji!

Govt lecturers put forth demands, warn of hunger strike from June 13
2011/6/6 12:24:50 Lecturers working in government degree colleges on Monday warned the state government that they would resort a fast-unto-death from June 13 unless their demands of a solution to their grievances is not met.
Giving notice of their hunger strike at the Secretariat on Monday, Qualified Government Degree Lecturers' Association leaders, including Association president TS Praveen Kumar and general secretary B Balaiah said that the fast-unto-death would begin in front of the office of Commissioner of College Education, Nampally from June 13.
Some of their demands include filling up lecturers' vacancies, appointment of regular college principals, yearly State Level Eligibility Tests through APPSC, implementation of UGC scales to promotees, change of transfers' policy among others, said Mr Balaiah.
It has come to light that hero Balakrishna is accompanying his brother-in-law on his trip to the US. The news has been kept a closely guarded secret. The engagement of Balaiah’s daughter Brahamani and Naidu’s son Lokesh is slated for the 24th of this month.
Naidu, Lokesh, Balakrishna and others will leave for the US on a two week tour. It is learnt that it was Naidu who asked TANA to invite Balakrishna to their meet. Naidu wants to garner maximum mileage for his party during this visit. He feels that Balakrishna would help him garner much more publicity.

The deceased - Pooja was studying in 10th class in a private school. Her father Balaiah is a police constable. According to police, the girl has reportedly committed as she was suffering from stomach pain.

2007/12/3 7:42:31 Hero Balakrishna has almost completed his work for the film ‘Okkamogadu’. The film is now in PP and will hit the screen for Sankranthi. Balakrishna is now in discussions about his next film.
Srinu Vytla is reported to have met Balakrishna with a script. Another banner, Sridevi Movies combines is also keen to make a film with Balakrishna in the lead. The banner made films like ‘Vamsaniki Okkadu’ and Adithya 369. Balakrishna is expected to take a decision shortly and commence work on his new film in early 2008.
The unit of ‘Okka Mogadu’ being directed by YVS Choudhary will go to Australia shortly. The film staring Balakrishna in the lead role has already completed five songs.
A song and some scenes are being planned for shooting at some picturesque locales down under. The director says that the film will have seven songs of which five have already been shot.
The eldest son-in-law of NT Ram Rao and husband of congress MP Purandareswari, Daggubati Venkatewarar Rao took on his two brothers-in-law Balakrishna and Harikrishna. At a press meet he made scathing comments on the two. He said that all their big talk about morals and uprightness was only on the screen He asked as to what happened to their heroism. Balaiah uncle will enter politics says Tarakarathna

Yuvarathna Nandamuri Tarakarathna said that his uncle actor Balakrishna will certainly enter politics. He however said that the exact time of his entry into politics is still not known but it would surely happen in the not so distant future. Tarakarathna said this at a programme conducted in a village near Kadapa.
The engagement ceremony of actor Balakrishna’s daughter Brahmani with Chandra Babu Naidu’s son is slated for the 24th of June. Preparations are on for the ceremony. It is learnt that Balakrishna has already started inviting close friends and relatives for the function. The marriage is slated to take place in august.

An increasing number of men have been found approaching plastic sugeons asking them to carry out cosmetic surgery on their cheeks and construct dimples like that of Bollywood actor Sharukh Khan, according to a noted plastic surgeon of the city.
"Among the men and women who come to me for cosmetic surgery I found a large number of them fascinated by the dimples of actress Preity Zinta and Sharukh Khan and want me to construct dimples on their cheeks" said Dr Bijal Parekh a noted plastic surgeon of the city.
It is not just the youngsters who want to ape the cine stars and models even older people crave to look like them. "In fact, a 50-plus man, who was getting remarried, asked me to do facial surgery on him and give him the dimples of Sharukh Khan", Parekh said.
Plastic surgery involves surgical procedure to improve the patient's appearance or perform reconstructive surgery to correct defects. It focuses on two broad fields. Reconstructive surgery including microsurgery for masking the destructive effect of a trauma or defect and cosmetic surgery to change features of the body which the patients might find unflattering.
In cosmetic surgery, most people want reduction of fat in abdomen, hip and upper thighs through liposuction which involves a procedure wherein the body fat is converted to a liquid and is sucked out.
Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery in which special instruments and technique are used to liquefy the fat and suck it out. Very small incision is put near the fatty areas. Since it is practically non-invasive it is also known as key-hole surgery. A patient who gets admitted in the hospital in the morning can be discharged in the evening and from the very next day he can perform almost all his routine works, Dr Parekh said.
While the percentage of men and women going in for face cosmetic surgery is more or less same, in case of liposuction the ratio of females is much more than males. "This is because the fat content usually is more in the females as compared to the males," he added.
Among the youngsters, the cosmetic surgery they want is removal of fat from thighs, buttocks and flanks of abdomen. This is because they want to have shapely buttocks so they can wear jeans, the doctor added.

2007/12/24 10:24:29 Mild tension prevailed in Parchur after some unknown miscreants vandalized a huge cutout of Balakrishna today. Balakrishs fans have put up the huge 30 feet cutout at the ‘Bommala Centre’ in Parchur.
The fans had set up the cutout on the occasion of the audio release of Balakrishna’s Okkamogadu. The fans found to their dismay that the head of Balakrishna’s cutout had been removed the next day. They staged a rasta roko and the vehicles on the Ongole-Chirala road came to a halt for over two hours. They called off their agitation after the police assured them of action against the culprits.
Nandamuri Balakrishna would be seen in different getups in his new film ‘Okka Magaadu’. The film is being directed by YVS Choudhary. The unit has just returend from Malaysia after picturisng a song on Balakrishna. The film has Simran, Anushka and Nisha Kothari as heroines.
The film will now commence shooting in and around Godavari River in east and west godavari districts. Balakrishna is getting special makeup for his role in the film. Mani Sharma is scoring music for the film.
The TDP is seriously thinking about bringing actor Balakrishna into active politics. The need was felt for a long time but with Chiranjeevi’s plans likely to turn into reality soon, the need is much more for the party now.
