Bachchan family new baby is 'Beti B'

Bachchan family which is blessed with baby girl recently, is fondly addressing her as 'Beti B' for time being until her naming ceremony is performed. Amitabh Bachchan has revealed this in his recent tweets. He said the whole family is eagerly waiting to welcome the mother and child to home. Appreciating his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Bachchan, he wrote she has shown immense courage in bearing the pains for having a normal delivery than for a cesarean operation. Amitabh seems to be too much excited with the new arrival into his family. Ever since, she comes into this world he is showing more concern towards her than anything else. If, the baby absorbs his full attention towards her, probably we may loose a great actor. Aishwarya Bachchan may be discharged from hospital tonight or tomorrow.

Can't wait to have Ash, baby home: Abhishek

    2011/11/18 13:12:55

New Delhi, Nov 18 (IANS) Abhishek Bachchan, who became father of a girl with Aishwarya Rai, has thanked friends and family for their good wishes and said he was eagerly waiting for the mother and daughter to come home. He also thanked the media for respecting their privacy.

Aishwarya gave birth to her first child Wednesday morning at Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital.

"It's a momentous occasion for the family and we are overwhelmed with all the love we have received. From all our fans, the media and the industry. Both Aishwarya and the baby are doing great and we can't wait to have them home," Abhishek said in a statement.

"I would specially like to thank the media for being so supportive, kind and respectful at such an important juncture in our lives," he said.

"It means the world to us. This is a very overwhelming and exciting phase we enter into and hope to have your continued love and support," he added.

Meanwhile, the new father is seeking some parenting tips from his parents Amitabh and Jaya.

"How do women/mothers do it? I'm walking around like a zombie and the Mrs. is like a super trooper with a bit of bionic woman thrown in," the 35-year-old posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

"Just as I step into fatherhood and parenthood, I've never seen myself rely and depend on my parents more. Guess that happens with every new (sic)," he further posted.

The actor has nicknamed the little girl 'Beti B' and says he spends his whole day noticing the little actions of the child.

"And till we find a name for the little lady a dear friend Shahana Goswami gave me a great one. We have Sr B and Jr B already so... Beti B!...Much like my father SrBachchan I too spent the day observing every little thing about the little one," he posted.

While Abhishek is enjoying his fatherhood, megastar Amitabh Bachchan is in seventh heaven after becoming a grandfather the third time over and he is looking forward to start the process of bringing up the child.

"...Soon we shall be home and then shall start the process of bringing up. Of teaching and bearing and learning. Of etiquette and manners, of religious indoctrination, of schooling and further monitoring...," Amitabh wrote on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.

"A day spent with the new born, observing each movement, breath and presence .. recording it for posterity and for us in our old age," he posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

    Baby girl for Abhi-Ash

2011/11/16 10:11:34 (IANS) A girl was born to star couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan at a private hospital here Wednesday morning.

The baby, their first child, was born at the Seven Hills Hospital. Mother and daughter were both doing fine.

"IT'S A GIRL!!," Abhishek, 35, posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.com. He had recently said he wanted a daughter who looked like Aishwarya.

Proud grandfather Amitabh Bachchan too couldn't control his happiness and tweeted: "I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl, A dada ji ... Ecstatic."

Hospital sources said the delivery was normal and came a few minutes before 10 a.m. The Bachchan and Rai families were present for the momentous occasion.

Aishwarya, 38, developed labour pains around 4 a.m. and was taken to the labour room where the delivery took place after nearly six hours.

The actress is on the fifth floor of the luxury private hospital in Andheri east.

The hospital had booked three rooms on the floor -- one for Aishwarya, the other for the Bachchan family and the third for the Rai family. The entire floor was kept out of bounds for all except the two families.

The hospital has been under tight security for the past three days in expectation of the youngest member of the Bachchan family.

Aishwarya was admitted to the hospital Monday night, according to her spokesperson.

The Bachchan family had been waiting for the baby's arrival for a few days and preparing for the child's welcome.

The girl is Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan's third grandchild, after Agastya and Navya Naveli -- children of his daughter Shweta and son-in-law Nikhil Nanda.

Aishwarya tied the knot with Abhishek in April 2007 and rumours about her pregnancy had been doing the rounds ever since.

In June this year, when Amitabh announced her pregnancy through Twitter, it grabbed the headlines.

A 10-point advisory by the Broadcast Editor's Association (BEA) reportedly asked TV channel heads to curtail media coverage regarding the high-profile delivery.

Bachchans upset with morphed pictures of newborn

    2011/11/19 19:41:37

New Delhi, Nov 19 (IANS) Pictures of Aishwarya Rai and her newborn baby girl have been doing the rounds on the internet. However, Ash's father-in-law, megastar Amitabh Bachchan and her husband, Abhishek Bachchan have claimed the pictures to be fake.

"Many morphed pictures of the 'little one' with her mother in hospital doing the rounds on the net... all fake!!" -- Amitabh posted on his Twitter page.

"To be my daughter in her mother's arms. Full points for creativity to the people who made them. Spent the morning with the girls and showing them some rather entertaining photos morphed by some very talented people of who is supposed..." Abhishek wrote with sarcasm.

Aishwarya gave birth to her first child Wednesday morning at a private hospital in Mumbai. Abhishek announced the news through the micro-blogging site.

The electronic media gave only limited footage to the news of Ash's delivery, following a reported 10-point directive from the Broadcast Editor's Association (BEA) warning news channels against excessive coverage on TV of her childbirth.

Thanking the media, the Bachchan senior tweeted: "And once again a word of kindness to the electronic media for their non interference and dignified distance... thank you!!

"A word of appreciation too, to the print media for highlighting a few salient points... our joy in welcoming the girl child... and emphasising the commendable desire of Aishwarya in having a normal delivery without any epidural or pain killers. The often coined phrase 'too posh to push' was put to rest in her case... she was determined to do it the way she felt was correct!" he added.

The 69-year-old third-time grandfather is already receiving suggestion for the baby's name, though Abhishek has chosen to nickname her 'Beti B'.

"More time spent with the 'little one'... each and every movement sinking deep into our memory cells... to narrate to them when older! Thank you all for sending in suggestions for names for the baby... some of them really good... will run it by the parents!" he wrote.

Aish delivery is a family matter: BEA

    2011/11/9 4:06:51

Media is abuzz with the news about Aishwarya Bachchan delivery. While some sections in the media predict twins for Aish, some predicts exact date 11.11.11 for her delivery despite there is no official confirmation about it. The over enthusiasm shown by the media on this issue has comes to BEA (Broadcasting Editors' Association) notice, which slaps some guidelines to media over this particular matter.

It orders not to publish or telecast any predictions about the date, gender, health, photo or horoscope of the baby until Amitabh Bachchan family officially gives information and permission. BEA also asks the media not to stall its OB vehicles before the Hospital for giving live-updates from the Hospital. It also asks its media-members not to start any type of discussions on this subject thus creating embarrassment to Big B family. Hope media would honor the guidelines.

Big B about his new little Bachchan

    2011/11/18 11:30:30

Bachchan family is flooded with joy and happiness with the new arrival into their family. Bachchan family considered the arrival of baby girl as a blessing as all of they desperately pray of a girl. Amitabh Bachchan, who now turns a proud grand-pa writes:

But .. what exists in reality is the new born .. its quiet and cuddled existence, covered from head to toe with specially constructed baby wear, its shut eyes and its occasional smile as it dreams of pleasant occurrences in this new world that she has entered …
Visitors pour in today, the space is crowded and full of eatable gifts – chocolates, cakes and more cakes !! They come they express and they write their first impressions and leave. The smiles on their faces signifying joy. This is good. Soon we shall be home and then shall start the process of bringing up. Of teaching and bearing and learning. Of etiquette and manners, of religious indoctrination, of schooling and further monitoring. The decisions to be taken of when and where and who. Eventually ending up with the selection of maturity and of the settling down and marriage … and then one day back to the condition we are in today .. of birth and happiness !
The endless cycle of life rolls by, oblivious of the circumstances that prevail, that may be beneficial to some adverse effect … one does not know .. until we find ourselves exactly where we had left off, at the beginning !!
Until one has something to look forward to, beginnings are odious. You could begin without a thought or destination or desire, you may still get there, but if you did have reason, you would get there faster and enjoy the journey better.
My aimlessness in todays times is deliberate. It has purpose and reason – my grand daughter ! It will keep me concerned and anxious. It shall keep me in joy and happiness, in expectation of the goodness of life for her and the need to do the very best we can ..
The purpose therefore has gone through a change. The concentration is more zeroed in on subject of love and admiration. Life does not do this often. Better to get involved in its doing rather than, lamenting its non presence. If you cannot be present, it is an insult to those that teach the art. I wish to learn and learn much. I need to follow what urges I muster. I need to now be able to do it, not because as age sets in all this, more shall be required. No ! I need to do it because the heart says so. For too long has the head ruled above us … let us give an opportunity to the other, to what comes naturally without any holds barred ..
No holds barred ! Let me be with me .. it helps !
    Amitabh Bachchan

    He Tweets:

We will give time to both electronic and print media .. PR will be setting up .. Have been up for more than 24 hours .. Need rest .

On the mobile message front I am trying desperately to reply to your wishes .. from the 1000 odd sms, just 200 left ..do bear with us

Still struggling with the responses to the mobile sms of congratulations for the baby .. everytime I cover some , more come in ..

Big B denies controlling coverage of grandchild's birth

    2011/11/8 10:36:22

New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he has no intention of controlling the electronic media coverage of his grandchild's birth.

His daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai is expected to deliver a baby in mid-November.

Responding to a report that said he approached the Information and Broadcasting Ministry (I&B) to ban TV channels from placing reporters and cameras outside the hospital, Bachchan tweeted: "I&B and media matter! Firstly, I have no such intention ever, secondly do you really think I&B would listen to me!?? No way baby.

Big B, who was also informed of the development through a message from a senior journalist, took to his blog to clarify that he had no role to play in moving these guidelines.

He wrote Monday night: "...this afternoon a print media sent a message - 'have you told the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to stop OB Vans from being anywhere near your house and hospital during the delivery of the baby."

"This was of course not true and a lot of nonsense, so I put the PR agency to look after the matter. They came back with the response that they contacted the journalist and told them that the news was wrong and refuted it on my behalf, but also told me that apparently there is news that the I&B Ministry has passed an order stating that the dignity of a patient should be respected and that the placing of OB Vans outside hospitals be not allowed."

A media report said that the Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) has issued a 10-point advisory to its members on how to cover the birth of Bachchan's grandchild.

Be it Amitabh's son Abhishek's wedding, Aishwarya's baby shower, Karva Chauth or Diwali -- all such events at the Bachchan household have attracted mass media coverage in the recent past.

No breaking news of Ash's baby, skeleton coverage on TV

    2011/11/16 20:04:04

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) The news of Aishwarya Rai's pregnancy and her star-studded baby shower grabbed print and electronic media coverage galore. But thanks to a 10-point directive against excessive coverage on TV of her childbirth, news channels had skeleton coverage when she delivered a baby girl Wednesday.

According to media reports, the Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) had issued a 10-point advisory to its members on how to cover the birth of Amitabh Bachchan's third grandchild, following obsessive speculation about the date of Aishwarya's delivery and the baby's gender.

While some predicted 11.11.11 as the birthday of the Bachchan baby and bookies even placed bets on the date, many believed Ash would give birth to twins.

However, most of these shows and news clippings were curtailed as the advisory was issued earlier this month. The directives saw a direct impact on the amount and nature of media coverage on the television.

Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital, where Ash delivered her bundle of joy, had tight security outside as well as inside.

The paparazzi was only allowed to set up cameras behind the walls of the seven-star hospital, where Bachchans booked three rooms -- one for Aishwarya, the other for the Bachchan family and the third for the Rai family.

    Therefore, coverage was bare minimum.

Amitabh had earlier clarified that he had no role to play in banning TV channels from placing reporters and cameras outside the hospital. However, he took to Twitter to applaud media's self-imposed restraint on his celebrity daughter-in-law's pregnancy.

Other events in the Bachchan household, including Abhi-Ash's wedding in April 2007, Aishwarya's Karva Chauth, the announcement of Aishwarya's pregnancy in June, and her baby shower in October, saw almost all news channels blowing information out of proportion and jazzing their programmes to have maximum TRPs.

All aspects of Abhi-Ash's "low key" wedding were covered. Be it the pre-wedding functions like mehndi and sangeet, to the D-day when Abhishek, went from his house Jalsa, to his other house, Prateeksha, to marry his lady love - all of it was covered frame by frame by electronic news channels.

When the former Miss World observed a Karva Chauth for the first time for Abhishek, secret TV cameras were planted behind bushes to capture the special moment, while for Ash's second Karva Chauth, prying camera spoilt the sanctity of the festival, according to Amitabh.

"The prying electronic media positioned themselves at vantage points to invade private space inside our home. It is callous, abhorrent act. Our privacy was invaded without our consent," Amitabh had said.

As soon as 69-year-old Big B announced in June that Ash is expecting, it received a lot of national and international coverage. Since Aishwarya also announced plans of withdrawing from Madhur Bhandarkar"s "Heroine", the coverage continued to be blown out of proportion.

Following that, whether it was any party or event, Aishwarya's baby bump drew interest among cameramen - but in vain. She made few public appearances, and even if she did, she took care to hide her tummy.

Her baby shower was attended by several female celebrities - and news channels once again parked themselves outside Bachchan house to dig details of the party.

Pictures from Aishwarya's last public appearance before her delivery at a party last week, saw the actress in a black and gold heavy Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla creation, which very well hid her baby bump. However, her bloated and glowing face were a mark of her mother-to-be status.
