New Delhi, Nov 19 (IANS) John Abraham is rarely seen shaking a leg, but he says he isn't averse to dancing.
"I don't shy away from dancing, in fact I love dancing. But it happens rarely. It happens when I love the song and my company," John said at a recent event.
The actor has been dancing a lot lately thanks to the promotions of his forthcoming film "Desi Boyz", releasing Friday.
"Akshay and I have been dancing and doing our signature step of 'Desi Boyz' at every special appearance. I am liking it so much. In the film also there are a number of songs where you will see me dancing. One is 'Jhak maar ke', 'Subah hone na de' and the main song 'Desi Boyz'," the actor said.

Actor John Abraham is going the whole nine yards to promote his upcoming release No Smoking. So much so that he's even urging people to quit smoking. CNN-IBN gets you more on that.

John Abraham: A lot of people have asked me if No Smoking is an art film because Anurag Kashyap has done a lot of films like that. I would say that it’s a very commercial film.
Rohit Khilnani: Are you hoping that guys and girls who smoke watch it and give it up?
John Abraham: I think smokers and their girlfriends and wives should definitely watch the film.
Rohit Khilnani: Tell people who smoke what the best way to quit is.

She is a big fan of John Abraham and when he agreed to join the campaign, she was more than happy.
John said we might be heroes in films but people like Jahnvi are the heroes in real life. John was completely relaxed during the event and made everyone around have a good time. There were discussions about safe sex, to create awareness among teenagers and also dance performances to send out the message.

2006/11/24 11:37:43 In a self-confessed exercise in self-promotion, model-turned-Bollywood actor John Abraham plans to send a select set of people a pinup calendar of himself, a newspaper reported on Friday.
The star described the calendar as “a humble exercise in public relations”.
“It will contain images only of me,” Abraham told Mumbai Mirror.
“Does that seem slightly narcissistic?”
Abraham said he had no plans to sell the calendar, but would send it to “people whom I know and would like to reach out to at the beginning of the year”.
Abraham did not identify the lucky few.
John has starred in several blockbuster movies since he struck fame in the 2004 hit Dhoom. In his latest film, Kabul Express, released next month, Abraham plays a television journalist covering the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Bollywood actor John Abraham hurt his shin while playing soccer in the climactic scene of his movie 'Goal', the film's director said.
Filmmaker, Vivek Agnihotri, said Abraham completed filming in London after medical attention.
"John was on the field with all the other actors and that's when he felt this sudden pain in his shin," Agnihotri told the Mumbai Mirror newspaper. ``We immediately called a doctor and a physiotherapist. John was in a lot of pain.''
He said Abraham also used acupressure to relieve his pain. Abraham, an avid soccer fan, says he loves playing the game.
Agnihotri hired trainers in London to help his actors practice their moves on the soccer field while filming the movie last month. It will hit the screens later this year.

Revealing his apparel expansion plans, John said, "Last year we put out exclusive clothes with my brand name into selected outlets in seven cities of India. We gradually created an artificial scarcity for brand. It seems to have worked."
Apparently, fans can't get enough of the 'Garam Masala' star's sartorial line-up, John Abraham apparel, for men and women.
"They're very aspirational clothes and priced likewise. We targeted them for people between the age of 16 and 24. But the core group of buyers for my clothes is between 16 and 40 years," John said.

Actor John Abraham has decided to reposition himself as a fun-loving and sporty entertainer.
After doing the football flick Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal with director Vivek Agnihotri, the actor will now feature in a film on mountain climbing to be directed by Soham Shah.
"I want to cultivate a sporty image after Goal. Hence, I'm also doing a film on mountain climbing. I'm a trained footballer, I used to play 'A' position soccer and I'm a certified climber," John told.
"I was into sports before acting sucked me in. I'm a very outdoor person. And I want that image to come across in my role.
"I want people to feel that if it's John, then it's something healthy and invigorating. Even No Smoking was a very sporty film," he added. For Goal, Andy Ansah, one of the best football choreographers in the world, trained John.
"All the international Adidas ads have been choreographed by Andy. He was a prize catch for Goal. I was working with people like Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Bipasha Basu whom I love... So it was fun." After chain-smoking for Anurag Kashyap's No Smoking, John had to quit it for Goal.
"I can't say it took effort. I've gone from a smoker to a non-smoker in no time."

The channel flagged off the competition with 10 contenders -- Ranbir Kapoor, Siddhartha Mallya, Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Virat Kohli, Abhay Deol, Yuvraj Singh, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ranveer Singh and John Abraham -- through their show "India's Sexiest Bachelor", where they revealed their likes, dislikes and other facts about their lives.
John, who is geared up for the release of his action-packed film "Force", walked away with the title after getting maximum audience votes.
John Abraham has literally hit the jackpot. The actor who normally charges Rs. 2 crore per film has now been offered nearly 7 crore per film. Adlabs has signed up the actor for their films for a total consideration of Rs. 22 crores.
Adlabs had earlier entered into a similar deal with Hrithik Roshan where the hero was offered Rs. 35 crores for three films.

Anurag informed the daily that the scene is an integral part of the film but how it'll be shot hasn't been decided as yet. He said that he cannot exactly disclose how much John would reveal onscreen.
NO SMOKING is a thriller, an anti-smoking film that gives out a message. John plays a chain smoker who joins a rehabilitation centre since he wants to give up smoking. The film also stars Ranvir Shorey and Joy Fernandes. The film will be produced by Kumar Mangat with music by Vishal Bhardwaj.
John has a host of other films lined up including BABUL, ROCKSTAR, KABUL EXPRESS, SALAM-E-ISHQ etc.
